Machine Tool Direct was formed in 2006, since then the business has gone from strength to strength. The initial business model was to create a platform for all used cnc machine dealers to advertise their stock on and elimate the difficulty of searching through hundreds of individual websites trying to find the ideal machine. Our aim was to position MTD at the top of 'google' for 'cnc machines', then all buyers and sellers would have one website to visit for machine tools.

The introduction of MTD excited new cnc machine suppliers aswell, in fact this is now our core business, MTD is the only advertising medium in the UK that lists in stock 'new cnc machines'. Our website lists almost 90% of the UK's new machine tools, with their specification and their photograph in our 'new machine search'. Companies including DMG, Mills Manufacturing, Hardinge, Dugards and many others have devoted a substantial amount of their annual advertising budget towards internet based advertisng, MTD being a big part of it.

At Machine Tool Direct we employ a number of staff at our head office in Rushden, Northamptonshire and plan to continue our growth through 2008 recruiting further telesales staff and field sales executives. Along with Machine Tools our website now offers a 'CNC Tooling Search' as a platform for 'Tooling Suppliers' to list their products, this compliments the 'new machine search' and has already generated further amounts of through traffic and interest from some of the major 'CNC Tooling Suppliers'. As we move forward this will become an e-commerce facility offering considerable discounts on products listed.
