DMG UK Ltd

DMG is one of the major manufacturers of machine tools in the turning and milling area world-wide. Apart from the turning and milling technologies, it also offers modern trend-setting ultrasonic and laser technologies. The delivery programme of the companies within the GILDEMEISTER group includes both low-cost machines that are sold on a large scale in the global markets and high-tech machines for highly complex production tasks. GILDEMEISTER meets market requirements with a range of innovative and completely new products, offering its customers trend-setting solutions.

Red Bull Technology & DMG Innovation Partner for excellence in Formula One

For Red Bull Racing, the 2008 season will be its fourth year on the Formula One circuit. As the team matures and develops, its preparation improves, along with the on-track racing performance. Although these improvements are manifested in the team's new RB4-racer, it is behind the scenes, hidden from TV cameras and photographers that the real improvements have been made.

In the Red Bull Technology Machine Shop, where components are manufactured by turning and milling, the partner is and has been DMG. The key competency within the process chain lies predominantly with milling, since all metal components - regardless of complexity - are manufactured directly from solid billets. Red Bull Technology sees the key to its success in its 5-axis machining capability, which is unmistakably reflected in the large number of installed DMU eVo linear machines, along with the larger DMU 200 P.

Above all, the British engineers value the excellent flexibility of the DECKEL MAHO machines, which deliver impressive roughing performance as well as highly precise finishing results: all in, at most, two setups. It is no surprise that the engineers point to the generous dimensions of their new production hall, which will offer enough space for four more DMU eVo machines as well as two larger DMU P machines, likely to be installed very soon; that is as soon as ambitious transmission production begins at the Milton Keynes location .

Our Advanced CNC Machine Technology

The lathes are from GILDEMEISTER, GRAZIANO and FAMOT, the milling and laser machines are from DECKEL MAHO and the ultrasonic machines from SAUER perform a large variety of machining tasks every day throughout the whole world: they produce high-precision components for the car industry and process cases for mobile phones in the telecommunication industry.

With the highest precision, they produce mouldings for ski bindings, machine engine components in the aerospace industry, artificial hip joints in the medical field, and laser micro-cavities for the electrical industry. Thanks to the newly developed process of ultrasonic-supported machining of hard-brittle materials, such as glass, high-tech ceramics or sintered metal carbide, GILDEMEISTER pushes further ahead into the "advanced materials" segment. These are just a few examples of the versatility of our machines in the various industries.

Renault F1 Team New season, new challenges, new machines

With the 2007 Formula One season now in full swing, defending Drivers and Constructors Champion, ING Renault F1 Team, is preparing for a tough year of racing. Having secured both titles for the past two years, many of the team's fiercest rivals are keen to stop Renault securing a hat-trick in 2007. Early race results suggest the team may not have everything its own way this year.

New components and component modifications are coming through thick and fast, providing even more work than usual for the team's busy machine shop where 18 high specification CNC machine tools supplied by DMG (UK) Ltd., - the team's preferred machine tool partner for milling and turning technologies - are rising to the challenge. Three new machines have been installed in the past 12 months alone.

"Aerodynamics is where most gains can be made," explains Machine Shop Manager Jeff Fullerton. Aero packages can consist of a range of parts that include underbodies, top body sections, rear wings, front wings and associated parts - all of which are produced at Enstone. Of the 18 DMG machines presently on site, three are dedicated to the wind tunnel development area.

"Towards the middle of last year it became clear we would require additional machining capacity," says Mr Fullerton. "Since 2003 we have progressively built our fleet of machine tools from DMG UK and we are really pleased with their performance. The only problem we have when we need new machines is deciding which DMG models to pick."
