Schott celebrates 25 years in software development
Story added 05 November 2008.
German CAD/CAM developer Schott System is celebrating a quarter of a century in
precision engineering.
The firm will use next month's Euromold 2008 exhibition in Frankfurt to mark the achievement and launch the latest version of its tribrid modeller, Pictures by PC.
It gives the ability to mix and work simultaneously on solids, surfaces and triangular mesh models.
This is essential for
precision engineering firms wanting to reverse engineer parts within a single user environment, the firm explains.
Schott has offered the tribrid modelling capacity in its software since before 1995 and the new product provides modelling enhancements across the board.
It points out that the advantages of tribrid modelling also extend to
machining centres, as the software is able to machine all three 3D data formats.
The original Pictures by PC software was conceived in the early 1980s as Graphics and Dots.
Its popularity, along with the release of the first PCs, prompted the firm's founders to develop the vector graphics software.
