machine tool dealers in West Yorkshire is battling through the difficult economic climate with a new management structure and plans for new technologies.
Heckmondwike-based 600 Lathes has appointed Mike Berry, previously sales director, as general manager and Jonathan Wright, previously head of engineering design, as engineering director.
The firm has re-formed its Machine Tool division and announced David Richardson as the new managing director.
"My responsibility is to re-focus and re-energise all aspects of the group's machine tools activities in order that we supply the correct technology, the correct quality, the correct delivery, the correct price structure and the correct service and support," he explains.
Every aspect of the machine tool production process is being reviewed and new proposals will help the company through the testing times, Mr Richardson adds.
A major building refurbishment is also underway in order to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality control procedures.
New machines being added to the 600 Lathes portfolio include the Alpha XS 2800 and Colchester-Harrison TT6 turn-mill centre.
